DONOR Q AND A
Yes! Each student in a Freedom Chapter receives financial support to attend school. Your monthly contributions as well as other sponsors’ contributions are put into a pool that gets disbursed to the students in the Freedom Chapter. Your donation also goes towards the resources necessary to help that student succeed in school such as access to our resource centers, counseling programs, mentoring relationships, income generation for parents and human rights trainings. 100% of your donation goes to working on the ground in at-risk communities in Northern Thailand. None of your donation is used for overhead, ensuring you give with confidence knowing your gift is directly impacting the life of a student.
Rest assured your donation will not be affected if a student drops out of the Chapter. If and when a student drops out of school, our staff are very diligent about following up and providing the necessary support to help guide them on their next steps. Your donation will continue to support the group of students, and resources are allocated to offer support for the student who dropped out.
Unlike the 1-1 model where we ask you to increase your donation amount when your specific student graduates from a level, with this new model, your donation amount remains constant unless you choose to change it. We ask for a 3 year commitment so we can be confident in our ability to give scholarships and support to those students in a specific Freedom Chapter. With that being said, we understand financial situations can change and if you do need to drop off, the impact on the students is not felt as heavily.
Yes – you will be able to write to the chapter of students you are supporting. Because we want to create an environment that is equitable for all of the students in the Freedom Chapters, we ask that if you feel inclined to send something, please consider addressing it to the group as a whole. Your help in ensuring all the kids feel cared for and encouraged would be greatly appreciated.
