Dressember 2019 has officially started! Dressember is a 31 day style challenge benefitting anti-trafficking programs around the world (including ours!). It works by having men and women take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress or tie every day in December.
How powerful is a dress? A dress historically has represented fragility and oppression, but Dressember has reclaimed the dress as a symbol of strength and dignity. In this annual style challenge, women and men from around the world wear dresses and ties during the month of December to raise funds and awareness for anti-trafficking programs around the world. Though it may sound simple, this action has resulted in over $7.5MM raised for the fight to end human trafficking!
This year, your participation in Dressember will also help support our mission here at The Freedom Story. It’s a fun and easy way to make a difference and get involved. Simply make a campaign page on their website, set a goal and start spreading the word. You can join a team, start your own team or do the challenge solo. Dressember will provide you with resources and stories to motivate, equip and encourage you along the way.
December is already underway, but it’s still not too late to join in and be part of the impact by wearing a dress (or a tie!) every day this month.
